My Favorite Free Baby Things!

Confession: I love a good deal. I love promotional items, I love sales, and I absolutely adore free things.

A few months ago we walked into the newly opened War-Mart and greeters were handing out free bottles of Vitamin C gummies.  It totally made my day despite the fact that I was extremely morning sick and hadn't been able to stomach anything but saltines in at least 3 days.

That's how much I love getting free things, and it is what brings me to my favorite aspect of baby prepping so far......

Samples and boxes of free baby items.

There are lots of sites and click bait out there advertising free products and give aways.  A ton of them are fake, but I am here to tell you the easy to get and proven offers! I even took pictures of what I received!

Bamboobies Reusable Nursing Pads- (Just Paid $2.50 in Shipping)

These are awesome, as far as I can tell.  I'm a first time mom, but I plan on breastfeeding and mostly pumping. When I received these I was in love with how soft both sides were, and I am always a huge fan of something reusable.  You just throw them in the wash with everything else!

Go here, and use the Code: WTEMAY while you're checking out.  Your shipping cost will only be $2.50!! It worked for me, and they got here within a week.
Added Bonus: you get awesome coupons to use on your next orders!

Amazon Registry Gift Box- (Free with a $10 purchase from your Amazon Registry)

The box, excluding the giant pack of wipes!

The Amazon box ships directly to your door when you have a registry and anyone makes a $10 purchase! I personally needed to go ahead and get a cheap mattress cover for the crib, and bought it from the registry for $10.12. As soon as the cover shipped my box was processing and on my doorstep within the week!

I liked the samples in this box and that it included a fun toy helicopter. The only con to me was that it didn't include more small samples.  The Aveeno and Aquaphor are great products, but I would've loved a little more volume in what was sent.

Here are better views of what was in the Amazon box:

Pampers diapers, wipes, and satin pouch

Okay, I'm low-key in love with this little satin wipe and diaper holder.  It doesn't hold much, but I imagine it'd be perfect if you were literally just going on a Saturday morning jog in the park and needed something to strap to the stroller.

This helicopter is awesome. It has a little mirror on the back, the tail functions like a rattle grip (it rattles if you shake it), and the propellor makes a loud but not annoying popping sound too.

Nursing Pads
These munchkin LATCH nursing pads seem neat, and they're fairly soft despite being disposable. I haven't tried them, clearly, but they have adhesive peel-offs backs.  I really wish they would've sent more than one pair of disposable pads, since they seem pretty cheap.

Muslin Swaddle Blanket

I love, love, love this blanket.  It's a muslin swaddle blanket with a hedgehog print.  It is so soft, and it's perfectly gender neutral whether you're expecting a boy, girl, or have no idea! I can't wait to see how cute my little hedgehog is in it.

Avent Bottle

This seems like a pretty common sample, much like the tiny Aquaphor and Aveeno samples. I don't plan on using this type of bottle, but you never know what is going to happen.  If everything goes well, I'll probably be using versatile pumping bags that screw into bottles.  I'm sure these will be nice to have on hand, though.

80 count Wipes
This was by far the biggest sample in the Amazon box. They're supposedly sensitive, and I'm happy to stock up on anything I can-- especially things that I know I will need a ton of

Overall thoughts on the Amazon box? I expected more samples, but it also had some cool things like toys and the swaddle blanket.

Target Registry Welcome Box-- Completely Free

The reusable tote bag all of it comes in and everything that was in it, minus coupons
Alright, all you have to do is make a registry through target online or in the store and go to the customer service desk. They will give you this awesome swag bag. The pain is that you have to leave your house, but it's totally worth it.  Also, the tote is reusable and pretty cute!

The bag included Lansinoh milk storage bags for pumping, a large pack of wipes, and an Avent bottle (like the one in the Amazon box).

Some of the other stand out items were:

Honest diapers and wipes samples

I know that the Honest company seems to be everywhere, and I am totally allured by the cute designs and appeal to more natural and eco-friendly products.  I'm excited that the Target bag came with these! I'm definitely adding some Honest products to my registry in case anyone buys them.

Nuk Orthodontic Friendly Pacifier
I know everyone has super different opinions about pacifiers, but I was a fan when I was a baby. The cool thing about this pacifier is that it is apparently orthodontic-friendly! Crooked teeth are infamous in my family, so anything we can do to mitigate that is always worth it.

Samples galore
Take note, Amazon!!! The target bag came with all of these awesome samples.  It has the same Aveeno and Aquaphor samples, but they also included "Boogie" saline wipes for baby noses, Mustela baby shampoo, the Boudreaux's Butt Paste that I hear everyone talking about, and a sample of Babyganics laundry detergent!

I was really pleased with how many samples they put in the bag. The best part is most of them had really great coupons attached-- something Amazon didn't.

Overall? Target's welcome bag is by far my favorite thing I've received! Maybe for a second time mom the Amazon is better, but I love how many different things Target included.

I can't wait to try everything out!
